Rokytnice nad Jizerou, one of the largest ski resorts in the Krkonoše Mountains, is set for major changes. It already offers a wealth of experiences and countless opportunities for leisure activities. However, new and exciting projects are being planned, and they will take Rokytnice to the next level.
One of the most pressing needs of the ski resort is a reliable water supply for snowmaking. The resort's management is fully aware of how crucial this resource is, and currently, it is missing. To ensure a sufficient supply of water, there are plans to build a new reservoir. This retention reservoir wont be used only for snowmaking, but also for a public swimming pool, expanding its use during the summer months. Once the zoning plan, which has already been approved by the city council, is changed, construction of the reservoir will begin. Its capacity is planned up to 30 000 cubic meters. With that much water, they can guarantee a smooth ski season for at least 100 days a year.
Modernization and expansion
In addition to securing a reliable water source, they plan to modernize the snowmaking system, replace and modernize the existing ski lifts and even build a few new ones. A major milestone will be the construction of a new ski lift that will connect the ski resorsts of Horní Domky, Studenov, and Harrachov. This also includes optimizing the ski slopes, increasing parking capacity, and expanding the ski bus routes. All of these steps will significantly improve visitor comfort in the future.
The town's administration welcomes all new investments and believes that they will bring positive changes. Thanks to them, Rokytnice nad Jizerou ranks among the best ski resorts in the country.
